The seventh annual Sussex County Birding and Nature Festival will take place June 9-10, 2012 at the Conservatory at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, NJ. This celebration of birds, butterflies, dragonflies and nature is where you want to be! June is a great time to see birds getting ready to nest, butterflies nectaring on blooming flowers and dragonflies darting across ponds. Field trips will highlight many of our state and federal parklands which comprise over a third of Sussex County. The field trips run all day Saturday and on Sunday morning (registration fee for adults, children under 12 free). The Conservatory will host free environmental displays and “green” vendors. There will be children’s activities on Saturday at the Farm Fun building. Our guest speaker this year will be Bill Boyle, the author of ‘A Guide to Bird Finding in New Jersey.
