The Union City Music Project's young musicians will perform in a free October 24th concert at the NY/NJ Port Authority Bus Terminal’s North Building as part of the 2013 Fashion District Art Festival.  A district-wide celebration, the Festival showcases the creative individuals, groups and companies that contribute to the unique energy that fuels this authentic New York neighborhood in midtown Manhattan.  This vibrant three-day event (October 24th – 26th) will attract its youngest artists yet when UCMP's grade-school musicians share their creativity with New Yorkers. Now in its second year, the UCMP is a bilingual educational organization that uses music as a vehicle for social change for at-risk children and youth in Union City, NJ by providing low-cost afterschool orchestral, vocal, and movement instruction and performance.
