victory hall DRAWING ROOMS, 180 Grand Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302
second floor

WHATS HAPPENING! at DRAWING ROOMS features an evening of unique presentations in each of the gallery rooms of our current art exhibit, including spoken word, music performances, artist demonstrations and interactive art-making. Our ten rooms will be filled with activities throughout the evening. Our special Halloween version of this event will be a costume party and we suggest guests come as your favorite artist or artwork (eg: dressing in the same color scheme as a Rothko painting, Brancusi's Sleeping Muse, Yayoi Kusama's polka dots, or perhaps your own art-work....). Dressed-up dogs (accompanied by owners with leashes, please) will also be welcome. Wine and holiday refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
Activity highlights:
·         a reading by noted poet John Keene, Associate Professor of African American Studies and English at Rutgers
·         a music performance by Zach Herchen from Jersey City’s chamber music group, Con Vivo
·         Halloween face-painting
·         Ghost-story readings
·          African drumming by Senegal artist, Ibou N’doye
