HOBOKEN -- She called herself "Maria" or "Carmen" but her real name was Minerva. People in Hoboken saw her wandering the streets for more than ten years. She would sleep in bank lobbies next to ATM machines, and spend her days in Dunkin' Donuts writing in notebooks. No one realized her three children were looking for her -- the three children who had been taken away from her nearly 30 years ago.

How does someone end up homeless? And if they have a life-or-death health problem, can they be forced into treatment?
