To the Editor:

The adage “’Tis better to give than to receive” is always in practice at All Saints Catholic Academy.

I would like to publicly thank the staff, parents and students in grades four through eight for their enthusiastic support of the “Gift Bags For Troops” campaign that was held in our school. Together, we sent 25 parcels containing over 240 gift bags to our friend and spiritual advisor, Fr. Ed Gorman, OP (Lt. USN) who is ministering to troops in Afghanistan. Fr. Ed dispensed the bags to U.S. Marines that he is serving with.

Thanks also to the Bayonne Shamrock Society and Assemblyman Jason O’Donnell who helped us with this project after reading about it in the Bayonne Community News.

I am truly blessed to be associated with such wonderful, generous people. I wish all of you and your families a very happy and healthy 2012.
