NORTH BERGEN AND BEYOND – North Bergen Mayor and state Sen. Nicholas Sacco (D-Hudson) says he’s extremely disappointed that Gov. Christopher Christie has ended construction on the ARC Tunnel project which runs through North Bergen.

“We need to grow New Jersey's economy and create jobs, and infrastructure improvements like the ARC Tunnel project are a significant part of those efforts,” he said. “Instead, the governor is throwing this project and the largest federal grant ever received by any state away. This is a short-sighted decision and it will cost us both the federal funds and the urgently needed transportation investments that are a vital part of our state's future." – Tricia Tirella

Mayor Sacco, who has 3 govt jobs paying him about $250.000 per year, should devote his attention to getting the Tonnelle Ave widening project finished, not telling the Gov to spend money WE DON'T HAVE! Tonnelle Ave has been a mess for 4 years with no end in sight. It should have taken only one year to complete this project. Its a shame that we don't have any local journalists with the guts to challenge the policies of the socialist democrats running this county.
