The American Okinawan Karate Association and Grand Master Ralph Passero presented the AOKA Grand Master Don Nagel 55th World Open Karate Championships on Sept. 22. The Bayonne High School Karate League attended. Arman Sandhu competed in the Super Juniors Advanced Kata (Forms) Division and placed first. Sandhu also competed in Kumite (fighting) and placed first. Ryan Rivera competed in the Super Juniors Intermediate Kata Division and placed first. Rivera also competed in Kumite and placed second. Mena Hasaballa competed in the Juniors Novice Kata Division and placed first. Hasaballa also competed in Kumite and placed second.
