HOBOKEN -- With the Manhattan Skyline as a backdrop, the 12th Annual Relay For Life of Hoboken will be held at Pier A on Saturday, May 17th, from 11 AM to 11 PM. The relay, a cancer awareness event, relies on the premise that keeping at least one team member on the “track” at all times to represent the never ending fight against cancer.

Over the past 11 years, Relay for Life of Hoboken has raised over $1 million for the American Cancer Society, which focuses on research, education, advocacy and patient services.

During Relay For Life, teams of family and friends gather at Pier A and take turns walking laps around the park. However, Relay is more than just a walk. It’s a time to remember those lost to cancer, celebrate survivors and honor caregivers.

Participants from Hoboken and the surrounding area will gather for an all day event filled with live music, fitness classes and food. There will also be fun activities such as games, a scavenger hunt, and themed laps.

For more than 25 years, Relay For Life events throughout the world have raised funds to support the American Cancer Society’s efforts and assist those in the local community as they battle the disease.
