Mayor Mark A. Smith said that the end-to-end snow removal on major city streets last weekend was a success.
Bayonne crews and contractors removed snow from the street on several main avenues in order to increase the safety for residents, according to the mayor.
“I would like to thank the people of Bayonne for their help and cooperation in this important operation,” the mayor said.
Seussical the Musical Jr. to be performed this weekend at high school
It’s here! “Seussical the Musical Jr.” will be presented this weekend by the Bayonne High School Drama Junior group.
Performances are Friday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. in the Alexander X. O’Connor Auditorium at the high school.
“Seussical Jr. is fun for the whole family,” said a Drama Junior spokesman. “Children of all ages will recognize the famous characters from their favorite Dr. Seuss books, in a production filled with catchy and exciting music, beautiful colors and costumes, and an inspirational and affirming ending.”
As is usual with Dr. Seuss stories, the powers of friendship, loyalty, and community are showcased, the spokesman said.

Tickets for ‘Eat, Play, Win!’ on sale now
An "Eat, Play, Win!" fundraiser, to benefit the Nicholas Oresko School, will be held at Winners/McLoone's, 400 Route 440, on March 14 from 7 to 11 p.m.
The fundraiser will offer raffle and 50/50 prizes. Fifty percent of race bets will be donated to the school.

Volunteers needed at New Jersey Blood Services
New Jersey Blood Services, which supplies blood products and services to 60 hospitals throughout the state, is in need of volunteers at blood drives.
“The blood service volunteer is an integral member of the collection team, whose task it is to assist donors with registration, escorting, and canteen duties, and to watch for post-donation reactions,” said R. Jan Zepka, manager of community relations.
Volunteers should have the ability to relate to the public, be able to perform various jobs as needed, and have a willingness to follow rules.
