Hearing on West New York development scheduled for Monday
The West New York Zoning Board is scheduled to take a final vote this coming Monday at 6:30 on the Felice development. The meeting will be held at Town Hall at 428 60th St.
Developer Joseph Felice wants to build a 35-unit apartment complex on the empty lot on 6025 Boulevard East.
The proposal the maximum density allowed in the zoning rules. West New York allows a maximum of 80 units per acre for a given development. The Felice proposal averages to 166.4 units per acre.

Street to be named after local businessman, advocate
The town of West New York will dedicate the corner of Bergenline Avenue and 63rd Street on Friday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. to Michael Parkes; local jeweler, businessman, and community advocate. The event is open to the public.
Health Fair being held for North Hudson residents
The Dvine Konektion Community Development Corporation is offering a free community fair on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 5516 Jefferson St., West New York.
Residents of North Bergen, Guttenberg, West New York, Union City, and Weehawken are welcome to attend.
There will be blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol screenings, and more.

Palisades Medical Center releases schedule of free community health screenings
Palisades Medical Center’s has released dates for free health screenings that will be held in Guttenberg and North Bergen in the coming months.
All of the screenings and information will be about: blood pressure, heart rate, percentage of oxygen in the blood, peak flow/respiratory, body mass index, sugar and cholesterol.
On Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. a screening will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 6823 Jackson St., Guttenberg; on Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., one will be held at
the Woodcliff Reformed Church, 7605 Palisade Ave., North Bergen; and on Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a screening will take place at the Sacred Heart Church, 9034 Barr Pl., North Bergen.
Palisades Medical Center partners with North Hudson Community Action Corporation, Christ Hospital School of Nursing, and Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern NJ to provide free health screenings and education programs.
The New Jersey Hospital Association recognized Palisades Medical Center's Community Outreach Program with its Community Outreach Award for its unique and effective methods of reaching out to better serve the healthcare needs of area residents.

Big Brothers Big Sisters seeking donations
