Funeral services were held Feb. 7 at Mount Pisgah AME Church, Jersey City, for James “Odell” Brown. He passed away Jan. 31 at home. He was born in Jersey City to the late Marie and James Brown. He was educated in the Jersey City public school system. James was employed at Lightolier for 35 years until he retired. James served in the United States Army during WWII and was honorably discharged. He was the recipient of the WWII Victory and Army of Occupation Medals.

James was predeceased by siblings Herman Brown and Louise Brown and two nieces Wanda and Karen Brown. Surviving to cherish James’ memory are his brother, John Brown, Sr. (Alzena); two nieces, Saundra Ballon and Darcel Brown; one nephew John Brown, Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends. Services arranged by the Jackson Funeral Residence, Jersey City.
