In the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan, health care resources in the Philippines have been under tremendous stress in affected areas. CarePoint Health saw an opportunity to help those with an acute need for health care supplies. In consultation with Filipino-American organizations in the United States, including the regional Filipino Diocesan Apostolate, CarePoint Health committed to providing medical supplies that would aid the ongoing efforts to bring safe and reliable health care to victims of the storm. Ten skids of materials, weighing over 5100 lbs., stocked with myriad medical supplies, were shipped to the Philippines and are scheduled to arrive at the port in Manila on April 29, 2014. The supplies include scrubs, tracheal tubes, sanitizing wipes, medical OIV start kits, syringes, and more.
CarePoint hopes that the donations will help those recovering from the storm.
