Dear Editor:

On behalf of the members of the Weehawken Police Benevolent Association (P.B.A.) Local No. 15, we are proud to announce that the crime rate for 2013 was the lowest since 1971. Due to the hard work and dedication of our Police Officers we have been able to drop crime in Weehawken by almost 80 percent over the last 23 years. In 1991 there were 230 auto thefts compared to 18 in 2013. Burglaries in 1991 were 218 compared to 36 in 2013. Such crime reduction could not have happened without the support of our residents, who are our eyes and ears and report suspicious persons and incidents. For all their support and information, "We Thank You!"

Remember, "If you see something, say something." The P.B.A. realizes that no matter how hard we work there will always be criminal activity. We pledge to fight to keep Weehawken safe.
