Services were held at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington on Wednesday, Sept. 4 for Florence M. Davis (nee Deely), 74, a lifelong Jersey City resident. She passed away on Aug. 29, 2013. Retiring in 2008, she was a cafeteria service coordinator at St. Mary's High School in Jersey City. She was a parishioner at St. Paul the Apostle Church, where she served as a bingo volunteer. She was the wife of Edward Davis Sr., and mother of Patti Monroe, Peg Chrobocinski, Linda Makofka, and Edward Davis Jr. She was the sister of Doris Samuels, Dorothy LaRochelle, and the late Jean Lyons and Richard Deeley. She was also a grandmother of five and great-grandmother to six. Greenville Memorial Home in Jersey City handled arrangements.
