A funeral mass was held Jan. 10 at St. Aedan’s Church, Jersey City, for Rose Dnistrian, 81, of Jersey City. She passed away on Jan. 6 surrounded by her family. Rose was born in Dunaff, County Donegal, Ireland, and resided in Jersey City most of her life. For 40 years, ‘Rosie’ worked at the Casino in the Park, Jersey City, where she greeted thousands with a warm smile and her sweet Irish brogue. Last year, Rosie was named Jersey City’s Senior Citizen of the Year. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Aedan’s Roman Catholic Church. Rosie was the wife of the late Dmytro Dnistrian; mother of the Reverend Dmytro Dnistrian; Stephen Dnistrian and his wife Cynthia; and Joseph Dnistrian; grandmother of Sarah, Stephen and Caroline; sister of Hubert, George, Bridget and Margaret, and the late Kathleen, Barney, Frank, Mary Alice, Dominic, Jack and Mickey; aunt and friend of many.
