Feeley and Radil soar for Red Wings

With both squads in search of their first Jewish Community Center of Bayonne’s Jr. Division Floor Hockey victory, the (0-1) Blackhawks and the (0-1) Red Wings kept things tight in the early going. The Blackhawks got on top quickly as Logan Mazziota assisted Michael Egan on his first goal of the season. The Red Wings knotted the game at 1 all with team captain Megan Feeley assisting Drew Radil on his first goal of the season. As the two rookie goalies, Marcelino Soliman (Hawks) and Akshat Thakur (Wings), struggled to get their bearings, the offenses kept marching as the Blackhawks’ Logan Mazzoita gave the Hawks a 2-1 advantage by scoring off an assist from Alexandra Soliman. In just seconds, the game was tied at 2-2 when Megan Feeley once again assisted Drew Radil on his second goal of the bout. The Red Wings unstoppable tandem of Feeley to Radil kept cashing in as the two joined forces for Drew Radil’s third goal making it 3-2, Red Wings. Not content with three goals in ten minutes, Feeley helped lift Radil to his fourth goal with another pinpoint pass. Down 4-2, the Blackhawks’ Harsh Easwar slipped in a goal to narrow the margin to 4-3, Red Wings. At that point, the Red Wings’ offense exploded out to an 11-3 lead as Feeley to Radil and “Radil to Feeley went on a scoring spree with Megan Feeley notching 2 goals and 5 assists while Drew Radil piled up 5 goals and 2 assists. As their offense soared, the Red Wings defense put their rookie goalie at ease as Declan Good and Matt Miceli put the clamps to any Blackhawks’ offensive output. The Blackhawks did stay the course as Logan Mazziota tallied his second goal in the closing minutes but in the end the Red Wings soared to an 11-4 victory.
