HOBOKEN--According to Melissa Abernathy of the Hoboken Quality of Life Coalition, the Board of Education candidate forum, previously scheduled for this Thursday, has been cancelled due to several candidate cancellations.

Seven people are running for three three-year spots on the nine-member board. Two sets of three people are on slates, and one candidate is running independently. Check hudsonreporter.com for our past and future stories on the candidates.

The QLC has two other candidate forums scheduled for this week, including an at-large City Council candidate forum Monday Oct. 16, at the Multiservice Center, 124 Grand St. and a mayoral candidate debate on Wednesday Oct. 25 at DeBaun Auditorium, 24 Fifth St. Both debates begin at 7 p.m.

Fourteen people are running for council and six are running for mayor.
