HOBOKEN -- The website Livability.com has named Hoboken the sixth best city for new college grads to live, the site announced in a press release on Monday.

The ranking will come as no surprise to the thousands of twentysomethings who live in Hoboken, enjoying its easy commute to New York City, its spacious streets, dozens of restaurants and bars, and roomier housing units than Manhattan.

Hoboken was behind cities like Cambridge, Mass. and Austin Texas, and just ahead of Ann Arbor.

Also in the top 10 were Naperville, Ill., and Fargo. Fargo?!

The release said, "Hoboken offers great job opportunities, a high concentration of young professionals and many cultural amenities. For this list of cities, editors looked at factors such as the number of 25- to 34-year-olds living in each city, the availability of rental properties, unemployment rates, educational attainment levels, use of public transportation and the types of jobs these places offer. Our editors also sought out cities that cater to a younger demographic by offering lots of recreational activities, hot nightlife and a hip vibe.

"Hoboken, N.J. has nearly 122,000 job openings in and around the city, and the unemployment rate for 25- to 34-year-olds is 1.6 percent, the second lowest on our list. The city is home to companies that specialize in publishing, insurance and health care. More than 68 percent of homes in Hoboken are rented, and the majority rent for less than 30 percent of the average income here, giving new graduates a variety of living options. Hoboken's bike paths, sidewalks and greenways allow residents easy access to the many shops, restaurants and entertainment venues the city has to offer."

Big cities like New York, Chicago, L.A., Philly and Washington, D.C. did not make the list.
