Hoboken needs to prioritize

Dear Editor:

I am disappointed to see yet another plan that allows overdevelopment of a part of Hoboken, especially the SW that is overwhelmed with traffic and doesn’t even have a true park. Any plan for development of 38 Jackson should require, at a minimum: use of the existing, historical structure (intact, not replacement); 10,000 sq ft of passive green space; upgraded infrastructure, including flood control; and a traffic study and a significant contribution towards funding the re-routing Paterson Plank Rd. Other cities, including those that surround Hoboken, successfully redevelop or rehabilitate while maintaining or improving the quality of life of the residents – it’s time for Hoboken to make it a priority when considering these developers’ plans.
