A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Oct. 15 at St. Francis R.C. Church in Hoboken for Fonta Liberante, 100, of Hoboken. She passed away at the Hamilton Park Health Care Center. Born in Conversano, Italy, Fonta immigrated to the United States in 1928. She worked as a seamstress for M&M Coat Factory in Hoboken, retiring after many years. Fonta was predeceased by her husband Philip Liberante in 1974. She will be missed by her two daughters, Mary Russo and Antoinette Salvemini; and her three grandchildren, Elizabeth Stradpaeda, and Ignatius and Anthony Salvemini. A great joy in Fonta’s life were her four great grandchildren, Rocco, Marisa, Julia, and Jennifer. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
