To the Editor:
As a former teacher and union leader, I know a little about contract negotiations. I know that if union leaders do not bring the offer back to the rank and file, nothing can be settled. Speaking to some of Bayonne teachers and knowing how negotiations went in the past, I know a contract cannot be settled when offers are not brought back to the rank and file. It is about time the blame goes on the shoulders of the right people and that is not the current administration. From what I have read and heard, I would think the mayor would love to settle the contract like the police and firefighters have done.
Teachers, go to your union leaders and pressure them to report back so the contract can be settled.
