Funeral services were held Feb. 21 for James Meehan, known to everyone as Buddy, a lifelong Hoboken resident. He passed away Feb. 19 at Hoboken University Medical Center. Buddy was a retired window cleaner with Union Local 2 at the World Trade Center for 43 years. He was a most fourth degree member of the Hoboken Knights of Columbus Council Number 159 for some 30 years. He also held the post of chairmen of that council for many years. Surviving is his wife of more than 50 years, Florence Meehan; two daughters, Diane and her husband Jeffrey Hand, and Michele and her husband John Vittorioso; and a son, Anthony Meehan and his fiance Sharon Burke. A great joy in his life were his grandchildren, David, Michele, and Gino. Also surviving is a sister, Frances Meltzer and her husband Harold “Happy”; and a brother-in-law, John O’Connor. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Nora O’Connor, and Grace Meehan; and a brother Harold. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
