A funeral service was held June 29 at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, for Paul N. Ribnicky, Jr., a lifelong Jersey City resident died. He died June 22 at the VA New Jersey Health Care System in East Orange at age. He worked as a bartender at the Shannon Lounge in Hoboken for 5 years before retiring in 1997. Earlier, he worked in the same capacity for several bars in the Hoboken area. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was the recipient of a National Defense Service Metal, a Vietnam Service Metal, a Combat Infantryman Badge, an Army Commendation Metal, 2 Overseas Bars and a Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion in Hoboken, the 40\8 Military Organization and a chairperson for the POW and MIA Association of New Jersey. He was the father of Aaron and Alyssa Ribnicky, the grandfather of Olivia, Amelia and Ella and the brother of Mildred and Maryann Benetin and Leonard Ribnicky. Services arranged by Parow Funeral Home, North Arlington.
