I am a lifelong resident of Jersey City and I requested and authorized the Healy campaign to post signs on my property as did members of my family and neighbors on Kennedy Boulevard in the Journal Square area of the city. I find it necessary to publically relate issues that have occurred recently involving the removal of these signs from my property and my family’s property in the “rough house” manner of trespassing and vandalism.
I strongly resent the attempts of criminals to attempt to take away my right to support the candidate of my choice Mayor Healy and his team. Are these persons connected to the opposition of the mayor? It is clear that this type of behavior is condoned by the current legislator from downtown who over the past seven plus years has obstructed the attempted progress of the city with his actions of criticism versus any attempt to demonstrate constructive circumstances.
Further, I will be consulting with the neighbor whose home is equipped with a surveillance camera to review the tapes with the Jersey City Police Department for the night of the illegal removal of the signs and in fact the villain or villains can be identified I am prepared to file the appropriate complaint in Jersey City Municipal Court.
I state to the opposition to Mayor Healy, you can remove and destroy our signs from private property but you cannot remove and destroy our spirit and the will of the people to re-elect Mayor Healy and his team on May 14.
