Christopher Silva came in first when he participated in his first meet as a member of Bayonne Recreation Special Olympic bowling team. Christopher and the other 29 athletes have been practicing since September to get ready for the competition. The bowling meet was held in February at Hudson Lanes. The athletes coming in first and second place advance to the North Sectional Bowling meet which will also be held at Hudson Lanes in March. The results from the first meet are:

First Place: Sierra Battle, Samantha Ciemiecki, Francheska Huentalf, Cheryl Olander, Chelsea Stirone, Roger Belanger, Ronald Benitez, Marcello Ciccone, Charles Cirillo, Richmond McCurnin, Ronald Onion, Jude Orlando, and Christopher Silva

Second Place: Lori Brett, Katilyn Frey, Alexis Galgano, Marybeth Yurecko, Dennis Driscoll, Ian Hudacko, and Michael Walsh

Third Place: Debbie Sinopoli, Dennis Pavlak, and Jovanni Torres

Fourth Place: Wendy DiDomenico and Elania Walsh

Fifth Place: Marc Tonzola

The athletes were accompanied to the meet and cheered on by their coaches and chaperones: Ronnie Burns, Tessie Diaz, Jillian Bergalowski, Anastasia Lee, Christopher Burns, Robyn Bolles, and Joseph Bolles. Many family members and friends also came out to lend their support. A special thank you to Mayor James Davis, Councilman at Large Juan Perez and Second Ward Councilman Sal Gullace for spending their morning with us cheering on the athletes, presenting some ribbons, and taking pictures with everyone.
