Used to fast starts, the (9-1) Bengals quickly built a 14-0 lead over the (4-6) Chargers as Drew and Jared Radil made TD grabs while Malachi Smith dashed in for the two point conversion. Drew Radil also came up with an interception as the Bengals tightened their grip on the top spot in the JCC of Bayonne’s Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division. Needing a surge, the Chargers’ James Johnson answered the call by hauling in a goal to goal TD strike from QB Ryan Giocoli making it 14-6, Bengals. With the Charges in hot pursuit, the Bengals’ Malachi Smith took over the second half by reeling in six TD passes while Jared Radil added three two point conversion snares as the Bengals put up 56 points. Inspite of the Bengals’ firepower, the Chargers never backed down as Alejandro “See Ya” Cifuentes (1 TD) and Jazmine Garcia (2 TDs) helped the Chargers rack up 24 points. The game’s final minutes were highlighted by the Chargers’ Ahmad McGill’s ball hawking and the play calling of the Bengals’ QB Michael Tedesco but when all was said and done the Bengals moved to 10-1 with a 56-24 victory.
