Special Dolphins swim to victory at chapter meet

The five member contingent comprising the Bayonne Recreation Dolphins Special Olympics swim team turned in fabulous performances at the recently held 2013 SONJ Chapter Summer Games. The event was contested at the College of New Jersey. The results:

25-M Freestyle: Sixth place, Elaina Walsh.

50-M Freestyle: Seventh place, Jovanni Torres and Elaina Walsh; Fifth place, Kaitlyn Frey and Thomas Gutierrez.

All swimming well in the 50-M Freestyle was Ian Hudacko.

100-M Freestyle: Fourth place, Ian Hudacko.

50-M Backstroke: Second place (silver medal) Kaitlyn Frey.

50-M Butterfly: First Place (gold medal) Thomas Gutierrez and Jovanni Torres.

The Dolphins’ weekend was capped-off by the two bronze-medal-winning relays:

4x50-M Freestyle: Elaina Walsh, Jovanni Torres, Ian Hudacko and Thomas Gutierrez.

4X50-M Medley: (back) Kaitlyn Frey, (breast) Thomas Gutierez, (fly) Jovanni Torres and (free) Ian Hudacko.

The Dolphins were accompanied to the meet by Christine Baccarella, Sheila Hudacko, and Tony Torres.
