I was taken by surprise to read in your Sunday's Reporter (November 26th) that my heritage is Mexican. Yes, I did participate in preparing food for the successful "Taste of Roosevelt" fundraiser, however, with German food under the German banner, as my heritage is German.
That is a basket of sliced bread I am holding up in that photograph you published, not tacos as you suggest. I wouldn't dare to pretend to know how to make delicious Mexican food, like the wonderful family next to me had meticulously prepared for the event.
Thank you for a good laugh though, and for the lesson it taught my 8-year old: Don't always believe what you read (about your mother) in a newspaper!
