Women’s Club of Weehawken sponsoring defensive driving course

Cars have changed, and so have traffic rules, driving conditions, and the roads we drive on every day, and so it’s important to stay on top of the most cutting edge methods for safe, defensive driving. The Woman’s Club of Weehawken is sponsoring the AARP one day Driver Safety Program classroom course on Saturday, April 13.

The course will take place at the Weehawken Senior Nutrition Center, located at 201 Highwood Ave. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be provided, but attendees are expected to bring lunch.

This course teaches proven strategies so you can safely get to where you want to go. Learn defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws and rules of the road. Discover ways to handle highway traffic, right-of-ways and blind spots, and how to deal with aggressive drivers.

You could be eligible to receive a 5 percent multi-year discount on your car insurance and a 2 point reduction on you license upon completion of this one-day course. The AARP Driver Safety Program is only $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members.

Call Carol Kravitz at (201) 951-1114 for more information and to make a reservation.

Women’s Club schedules next regular meeting.

The Women's Club of Weehawken will hold their next meeting on Monday, April 15 at 7:15 p.m. in the Senior Nutrition Center, located at 201 Highwood Ave. All are welcome to join and find out about the group’s upcoming plans and interests. Currently, the group is preparing a Weehawken Community Cookbook and all are invited to participate. For further information, please contact womansclubofweehawken@gmail.com.
