The Rockefeller Group building made national news recently when Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer alleged that the administration of Gov. Chris Christie suggested that Hurricane Sandy aid to her town would be tied to her help with getting the project approved. A close Christie ally was, until recently, a lobbyist for Rockefeller, which might explain Christie's interest in the private development.
Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner generally stays out of controversial matters in Hudson County. So the Reporter asked him last week what he thinks of the Christie/Zimmer issue and of the potential for a building in that area.
