Sunday, April 29:

Break out your soft-soled saddle shoes. As always, the Hoboken Swing Scene will be practicing at Maxwell's from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Later that night, the club will host Mike Doughty. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $12.

Monday, April 30:

Blue Monday getting to you? Scotland Yard is having its weekly Blues Jam with Big Ed Sullivan. The show begins at 9:30 p.m. Also, Superchunk and Annie Hayden will be at Maxwell's. Tickets are $10, and the show starts at 9 p.m.

Tuesday, May 1

Ristra is hosting its weekly open mic night, HIPnotized, from 8 p.m. to midnight. The evening will feature visual arts, live acoustic music, spoken word, comedy and improv. And there will be a special appearance by Cosmosis. The cover charge for patrons 21 and over is $3 and $5 for ages 18 to 20. Superchunk will be back at Maxwell's, but this time with Ashley Stove. The show starts at 9 p.m.

Wednesday, May 2

Spoon and Cropduster will be at Maxwell's at 9 p.m. Tickets are $7. Better of Dead will be at Scotland Yard at 9:30 p.m., and it doesn't cost a cent. Also, it's Swing Night at Willie McBride's beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, May 3

The Mooney Suzuki, Moldy Peaches, and Seconds will be at Maxwell's at 9 p.m. Tickets are $8. It's Lik-Wid Jam (open mic) night at Willie McBride's. Artists, poets, musicians and freaks are welcome. Sign up starts at 9 p.m. There is no cover. It's also "Karaoke and DJ" night at the Liberty Bar & Grill, so head over and sing your heart out.

Friday, May 4

The Strokes, Longwave, and Pencey Prep will be at Maxwell's at 10 p.m. Tickets are $8. And at 10:30 p.m. there will be live music at House of Blues, where there's never a cover.

Saturday, May 5

Couch and The Januaries will be at Maxwell's. The show begins at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $6. And, as always, Joe Taino will be leading the Blues Jam at Scotland Yard at 4 p.m.
