The Hoboken City Council appointed David Mello as a commissioner on the Housing Authority by a 6-2 vote, with Councilwoman Beth Mason joining the majority in a rare moment of amity, leaving the discordant remarks to her minority faction colleagues. Public amenities are on the way back in Hoboken, and we have stories on the reconstruction of Sinatra Park for all your soccer fans, and plans to expand the Hop bus shuttle for those who’d rather ride than walk and don’t want to hassle the parking.

The school principal, athletic director and guidance officers, however, will be on probation for the next two years.
