A funeral mass was held Feb. 25 at Our Lady of Libera Church for Vincenza ‘Vinnie’ Monico. She passed away Feb. 22 at the King James Care Center in Chatham. Prior to residing there, she was a lifelong resident of North Bergen. She was a parishioner and member of the Rosary Society of Our Lady of Libera Church in West New York As a member of the Rosary Society she was active in the founding of Our Lady of Libera Grammar School where her two sons Raymond and Joseph attended. Vinnie could always be found appearing in the annual fund raiser musicals put on by the Rosarians.

A bookkeeper for many years at the White Way Auto Parts in North Bergen, Vinnie enjoyed playing bingo, Atlantic City, the theater and was an avid Yankees fan. Vinnie thoroughly enjoyed dinner and movie nights with her closest group of girlfriends that included Babe, Dottie and Kathy. She was the daughter of the late Antonio Barrese and the late Maria (nee: Lagana); wife of the late Raymond P. Monico Sr, 1984; mother of Dr. Raymond P. Monico, Jr. and his wife Dianne, Joseph Monico and his wife Susan; sister of Joseph Barrese; grandmother of Jason P., Jeffrey P. and Jessica P. Monico; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
