Your lousy parking puts lives at risk

Dear Editor: This is my final response to the habitual complainer who feels Hoboken's parking rules and regulations are unjust and unfair to the residents of Hoboken. On May 29 this writer had the unpleasant experience of escorting a loved one to the St. Mary Emergency Room. The paramedics had to weave in and around double-parked vehicles in route to the hospital. Response time anywhere in Hoboken is an average of three minutes. The ambulance arrived at St. Mary in 10 minutes. The patient's life was hanging in the balance. If this was his or her six-year old child in need of medical assistance, I'm sure a different tune would be sung. If this is a case of distorted perception, then I stand corrected. One should define the quality of life and consider the welfare of all the residents who live in our city. My suggestion is either go with the flow or pack up and go. Parking rules will be enforced in spite of the fact it's an inconvenience to those who cannot define reality from illusion. PEO Officer
