Campos needs to get the message

Dear Editor,
It has been my good fortune to get to know Dawn Zimmer and her family over these past several months, and I am extremely proud of my role in helping her to become the 4th Ward's new Councilwoman. It is unfortunate that Mr. Campos has had to go outside of our community to find supporters. It is obvious that Mr. Campos' allies (Gerry McCann, Arnold Williams, Brian Stack, Richard Turner, among others) are not working for the benefit of the 4th Ward or the City of Hoboken; rather they are pursuing their personal agendas. Not one of them cares about senior citizens, developing park space, stopping flooding or building a neighborhood.

The voters in the 4th Ward have spoken. Mr. Campos should concede now. During a lifetime in Hoboken, I've gotten to know virtually all of our public servants, and I can tell you that Dawn is truly special. She cares about all the members of our community and ran a campaign that included everybody. She brings intelligence, honesty, energy and sincerity to a job that requires all of those things. I look forward to watching her work for the next four years and beyond.

Respectfully,
Andrew Amato
Former 4th Ward Councilman
