Dear Editor:

The Community Food Pantry of St. Peter's Haven in Clifton is desperately in need of food. Our shelves are empty, and we have many people asking for food.

The number of pantry clients has greatly increased over the last year, and we do not want to turn anyone away due to lack of food. Right now "The Haven" is feeding well over 500 plus families a month and many more on an individual basis. We also supply clothing on a limited basis for children and other family members.

Donations of food items such as cereal, pasta, canned vegetables and fruits, peanut butter, soup, beans, rice, tuna, etc. are much needed and would be greatly appreciated.

Food items may be brought to the Haven office, Monday thru Thursday between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon and 1 to 4 p.m.; Friday from 9 a.m. to noon; Saturday 9 to 11 a.m.

We thank you for your help in our endeavor to feed the hungry. Please call the Haven office should you have any questions or cannot deliver food during the slated times, 973-546-3406.

The Rev. Deborah Rucki Drake, Deacon
