According to WNBC-TV, two Jersey City officials are planning to plead guilty in connection with the corruption arrests that took place in July.

Guy Catrillo, an employee in the Mayor's 'Action Bureau' and Maher Khalil, an employee in Jersey City's Health and Human Services Department, were expected to appear in federal court in Newark this afternoon.

Catrillo, when reached by phone, confirmed that he was going to plead guilty but could not comment further as he was in transit to court. Khalil could not be reached for comment.

Both men were among the 44 arrested in July as the federal government's probe into money laundering and political corruption.

Catrillo is accused of accepting $10,000 in campaign contributions. Khalil is accused of accepting $30,000 in cash payments. - RK

They say you can't tempt an honest man. So it is hard to blame the feds for these two. But I can't help but think of Garden of Eden and the serfant that tempted Adam and Eve. There are no good guys in this story, only bad and less bad
