HOBOKEN -- In what will not come as a surprise to anyone who has received her mailers in their mailbox, Councilwoman Beth Mason has so far spent the most money of all seven Hoboken mayoral candidates who want to win the election on Nov. 3.
According to Eric Kurta, a resident who is active in campaign contribution reform, Mason has received $394,050 as of Oct. 23 to use in this race.
This is nearly double the contributions raised by her opponent, Frank Raia, who had $200,000 as of Oct. 23. As for contributions of less than $300 each, Mason got $1,850, while Raia has none of those.
Incumbent Dawn Zimmer is third with $97,151 raised, $17,488 of it from contributions of less than $300 each.
Glatt has $40,880, and $1,680 of that is from individual small contributions.
Surprisingly, Republican Nathan Brinkman has almost as much as Glatt -- $36,731, of which $2,840 is from contributions of less than $300.
Everton Wilson has $1,555 in total, and Patricia Wilson did not file, according to Kurta's numbers.

But how many of these contributions are from the candidate contributing to him/herself, and how many are in-kind donations of food, etc.?

If Elizabeth Mason gets the same 2330 votes she did in the last election she will have spent $170.00 for each vote.
That is if she doesn't spend another cent from when she filed her elect reports.
Here's some good links that show her ineptitude.

Mason and the Mason's paid bloggers (another place that money goes...) are so convinced the average voter is stupid. Even when they already saw it didn't work so well in May, they went lower and stupider and took overkill spending to a new level. I wonder if any degree of poor showing by Mason tomorrow will make the light bulb go off over their heads.
I rememeber when you could find his reports on Hoboken411 before that site became so one sided for Beth Mason.
It will be interesting to see if Hoboken411 runs the story as did Mile Square, Hoboken Journal and Hoboken Revolt sites.
Just looking at the report, it's clear who has true support, and who does not.
Erik's charts say:
Brinkman gave himself $24,577
Glatt's husband gave $16,000
Mason & husband gave $385,000
Raia gave himself $200,000
Zimmer gave herself $35,500
Here is a question for the taxpayers: Would Mason - if elected as mayor - spend your tax money as freely to aggrandize herself as she does with her husband's money?
Since the Dawn Zimmer tenure started just three months ago
- She has hired multiple 6 figure employees, adding to an already bloated payroll
- She has refused to even introduce a budget even though its been sitting on her desk, thus keeping the council candidates from using the lack of spending cuts against her
- She has appointed people to boards who in total have donated over $5,000 to her campaign.
Dawn Zimmer is more of the same and she's proving it.
Only Beth Mason can provide the changes Hoboken city hall needs to lower your property taxes.
Those people who want to see the real changes Hoboken so desperately needs continue should decide where their vote will be most effective.
