NORTH BERGEN AND BEYOND – An announcement will be made by Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel outside of his office at 4 p.m. today regarding the alleged carjacking and kidnapping of Martin Caballero, 47, of North Bergen, according to a press release.
Caballero went missing after going to park his car at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino on May 21.
Craig Arno, 44, of Atlantic City, and Jessica Kisby, 24, of Egg Harbor Township, were arrested and charged with allegedly carjacking Caballero and kidnapping Caballero. Atlantic City Police found a body that Housel said is believed to be Caballero outside of a farm on Sunday, but the positive identification had not yet been announced as of Thursday morning.
The duo allegedly carjacked and kidnapped Caballero inside of the casino parking lot around 10:30 p.m. on May 21 when he parked his 2009 Lincoln MKS.
Arno allegedly used the victim’s ATM card around 1:07 a.m. and a few minutes later Caballero’s vehicle was spotted at an Exxon gas station, where a female allegedly obtained a can of gas and a lighter.
Then, according to Housel, both cars traveled north to Gloucester Township, where Arno apparently suffered serious burns while allegedly lighting Caballero’s vehicle on fire. When Arno appeared in court, he had bandages covering some of the burns.
The car was found “engulfed in flames” around 2:30 a.m. behind the Democratic Club in Gloucester Township with no one inside.
