To the Editor:

I would like to say a special thank you to Knights of Columbus No. 371 for helping a World War II veteran, Anthony, who was looking for someone to push his wheelchair up Broadway in the parade. I was asked by the Bayonne Police Dept. for help and I had my mother-in-law with me. The Knights, under the leadership of Grand Knight Michael Lipari, stepped up and assisted, as I knew they would, without hesitation. Anthony was much appreciative and may be a new member soon.

I am proud to be a 25-year member of the Knights, and kudos to the guys; Bill Schmicking, who actually did the pushing; Bobby Garritano; Jim Guardino; Anthony Menafro; John Stein; and Tommy.

TONY CAMPANO

Columbus Parade Co-Chairman
