JERSEY CITY and BEYOND -- The Jersey City school district on Friday removed the principal of Lincoln High School along with three other employees while school was still in session. School board member Sean Connors confirmed to the Jersey City Reporter that the removal took place and the employees were reassigned to the school district office pending an investigation. Connors said the investigation was looking into allegations that the grades of some Lincoln High School athletes were fixed to allow them to remain eligible.

Connors said he was informed by schools superintendent Dr. Charles Epps before the removal took place and after.

The removed employees identified so far are Prinicipal Jeannette Braswell-McRae (seen in photo) and Athletic Director Artie Williams.

Connors said it would be "sad" for Lincoln if the allegations were true. He noted that the high school has enjoyed great press recently due to the success of their football team and the school's soccer coach, Wexford Boateng, being honored by the Hudson County Interscholastic Athletic League.

First of all, this is all speculation! And if this has been going on at LHS, Mrs. Braswell just was appointed principal this year and she would never sacrifice or do anything unethical to jeopardize her 30 plus years as an educator for Jersey City Public Schools. Mrs. Braswell comes from a family of high standards and ethics, her brother was a Judge! Rest his soul... and besides Mrs. Braswell is a true woman of God! Highly qualified for the position and she has done an exceptional job thus far!

Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor: no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. God has the final say in all things. Mrs. Braswell we love you.

P.S. (forgot to do spell check) Corrected Posting!

I would like to know, since my son's school played Lincoln in basketball, does this mean Lincoln will forfeit the basketball title they won in 2009? I sure hope so, becasue some of the kids on the team were on probation anyway! What a joke this is, they fire Braswell, Smith and the rest of those jokers. Shame on them.

No surprise, here. The principal of Lincoln is known for this. I teach at Ferris High School, and it is well known among the student body that athletes grades are changed at Lincoln. Just ask Lincoln teachers or students. Teachers authority is continuously undermined as is students rights. Only the boys basketball team and football team and the principals select "pets" get away with anything they want, legal or illegal.

It is a disgrace. I don't know how this woman became principal! She can barley speak English.
