Dear Editor:

As a long-time resident of the 3rd ward I have had the opportunity to interact with Councilman Michael Russo on a number of occasions. Michael has been a strong supporter of our community and has always shown himself to be an honest individual who has the interests of the 3rd Ward as a top priority. Any time that I have asked him to help he has never hesitated to do so, no strings attached. He has never asked me to support him because of what he’s helped me with. I find that refreshing for a politician.

From all that I have seen of Michael, he has always tried to help his neighbors and do what’s right for them. He organized the community meetings about the plan to move of the city garage to Jackson Street, which we stopped, thank God. Michael also played an important part in keeping our hospital open with an emergency room for our community to have. It’s the only one in Hoboken.

Michael also wants to lower our taxes by cutting wasteful spending and giving the surplus budget funds back to the people who have been paying too much taxes. The 3rd ward has a real fighter in Michael Russo.

The other man who is running against Michael has been insulting our community by saying we lied about the garage moving to our ward. All he talks about is negativity and rumors. It’s true that I support Michael, but if I felt for a minute that he wasn’t an honest man I would tell him to his face. I will ask my neighbors to join me in supporting him because he has been a fighter for us and will continue to be a fighter for us after election time.

Thank you,

Camille Lynch

3rd ward resident

Not sure how Camille Lynch can make such outrageous claims. Mike Russo has worked against cutting spending in Hoboken and doesn't pay any taxes so that's a clear motivation as to why.

Here's the details on Mike Russo's opponent:

Mike Russo is not rumored to have had a meeting with an FBI informant. It's on tape and told in the book on NJ corruption just out: The Jersey Sting.

Have a read Camille.

P.S. There won't be any federal government surveillance tape showing him agreeing to accept money from the same FBI informant who got Mike's campaign manager and ex-mayor Peter Cammarano sent to prison.

There was no plan to move the Municipal Garage to Jackson St.

Stop with that whopper or show the plan.
