Last week North Bergen High School’s choir students belted out songs for their fellow classmates and families at the annual Vocal Showcase.

While the choir often performs classical songs at competitions, students choose contemporary hits for their peers at the April 13 and 14 performances.

Choral Director Jennifer Penton said that over 500 people attended each performance, helping to raise little over $5,000 for the chorus, with tickets at $5 purchased in advance and $7 at the door.

These funds will be used for music department supplies and transport to future shows.

“Anything the kids need,” said Penton.
