Hungry for some pasta?

On Sunday, May 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. Hose Co. 2 will hold its annual Pasta Dinner at, of all places, Burger Stop. (Seems a “pasta” dinner should be held at “Pasta Stop,” or the event should be known as the annual “Burger Dinner.” But we digress.)

Come support the local Volunteer Fire Department by attending this all you can eat event. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children and seniors. Kids under five eat free. The buffet-style meal will include an assortment of fine pastas and there will be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.

Tickets can be purchased at Burger Stop or at Hose Co. 2 at 764 7th Street. People can also call Greg Lentini at (201) 330-2073. Burger Stop, 333 Meadowlands Parkway, Secaucus.

Anglers, start reeling those lines

On Saturday, May 7 the town will host its annual Fishing Derby. Sign ups for those wishing to participate will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. and the derby itself will be held from 9 a.m. until noon.

As always there will be lots of great prizes for biggest fish, smallest fish, and other interesting categories. It will be held at the Anthony E. Just Duck Pond, on Metro Way.

Oh, what a night! Jersey boys coming the PAC

No, not the musical. But close enough – and even better! On Saturday, May 7 at 7 p.m. the Hit Men will perform a concert at the Arthur F. Couch Performing Arts Center (PAC) in Secaucus. The group includes three of the original members of the Four Seasons, and the guys – according to Deputy Mayor John Bueckner – still know their way around a pop song.

The free concert is being co-sponsored by Xchange at Secaucus Junction and the Secaucus Public Library and Business Resource Center.

The PAC is located next to Secaucus High School at 11 Millridge Road.

Animal Shelter benefit

On Saturday, May 14, the Meadowlands Parkway Dunkin’ Donuts will be running a 12-hour contribution fundraiser from noon to midnight during which 20 percent of all proceeds will go to benefit the Secaucus Animal Shelter. And from noon to 3 p.m. some of the shelter’s adoptable furry friends will be on-site to meet prospective new families.

Dunkin’ Donuts, 20 Meadowlands Parkway, Secaucus. For more information, call the Secaucus Animal Shelter at (201) 348-3213.
