To the Editor:

I would like to thank the Knights of Columbus for the 25 year pin awarded me at a recent meeting. Over the past years, I’ve worked on the bingo crew, free throws at St. Mary’s parish, and canteen drive for various scholarships at Shop Rite, and communion breakfasts and bowling were always memorable. I ran the members’ room at the top of the old building. I called it the “castle top.” And who could forget the best decorated and friendliest bar in Bayonne where fraternal brothers meet?

I miss the large board in the hall in the financial secretary’s office with the hundreds of members’ names on it. The many large rooms, especially the Christopher Room, where many events and honored ceremonies took place, were second to none.

The insurance policies I have are the best value and help to fund the greater good of the organization. I recommend this experience to all Catholic men. I believe Knights of Columbus is the best network in life. I learned about the Bayonne Police Auxiliary from a friend there and have 25 years there also. As a friend would say, “every day is a holiday.” See you at the 50th anniversary!

TONY CAMPANO
