WEEHAWKEN AND BEYOND -- The 37-year-old mother who allegedly left her injured 1-month-old daughter on the steps of Weehawken High School just over a week ago will face criminal charges, according to a report from the Associated Press.

The baby, who sustained multiple traumatic injuries to her body including a skull fracture, was found on June 10 and is currently recovering in a New York City hospital.

The mother is a special education teacher on leave from Memorial High School in West New York and has two other children.

According to the report publicized online, Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said the woman will face charges of aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and child abuse when she is released from psychological evaluation at Jersey City Medical Center.
