Hoboken council: Giattino sworn in; Bhalla and Cunningham named Hoboken Council Prez and VP

HOBOKEN - After Councilwoman Jennifer Giattino was sworn into office by Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno outside of City Hall, shifting the majority back to Mayor Dawn Zimmer, Councilman Ravinder Bhalla and Councilman Peter Cunningham were sworn in as the council president and vice president at the beginning of the reorganization meeting on Friday afternoon.

Bhalla was voted in as president by an 8-1 vote, with a no vote by former Council President Beth Mason. Bhalla was nominated by Councilwoman Carol Marsh.

Councilman Peter Cunningham was nominated by Councilman Michael Russo, and was elected council vice president unanimously.
