SECAUCUS - Hartz Mountain Industries, a Secaucus-based real estate owner and developer, obtained a 20-percent stake in Roseland Management to have the Short Hills-based company manage four NJ residential properties, the companies announced Sept. 8.

Hartz Mountain Industries developed Harmon Cove, Harmon Meadow and Mill Creek in Secaucus and other properties throughout Hudson County such as 15 Exchange Place in Jersey City and Lincoln Harbor in Weehawken.

Roseland Management, which is part of Roseland Property Company, owns and manages more than 8,000 apartments in five states and will manage properties in Westwood, Morris Plains, Morristown, and Jersey City as part of the deal.

Hartz President and COO Emanuel Stern said the company has been acquiring luxury multifamily residential properties and considering its options to either set up its own management company or partner with an outside firm, according to the Star Ledger.
