Players Mini-Theater looks for actors

The North Bergen Players are currently auditioning actors, singers, and dancers for their upcoming holiday show, “A New England Holiday.” The players are also searching for two 8- to 10 year-old girls currently studying classical dance.

New municipal parking lot opens in Guttenberg

A new municipal parking lot has opened at 308-310 68th St. in Guttenberg, according to a notice issued by the town. Spaces can be rented for $100 per month. Parking is only available for cars and SUV’s registered in the town.

Safe Kids Day scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1

The town of Guttenberg will hold the annual Safe Kids Day event on Saturday, Oct. 1 between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Boulevard East between 68th to 71st streets. The event will include amusements, food, demonstrations, music, and more. The Police will also fingerprint children in order to keep their information on record.

“We get a very big turnout there,” said Mayor Gerald Drasheff.

Former North Bergen teacher will give his thoughts on TV

Former Horace Mann teacher Mike Spina, author of “Teachers Under Attack!” is scheduled to appear during a segment on Secaucus-based WWOR-TV, channel 9, today, Sunday, at 12 p.m.

Spina, an outspoken opponent of Gov. Christie’s education policies, will go head-to-head with Darrell Bradford of the Governor’s Task Force on Education. Bradford is a charter school employee and advocate. The topic of discussion will be Christie’s education reform policies.
