Mrs. DeGennaro’s 4th grade students of Connors School recently visited Hoboken’s University Medical Center to spread cheer to the patients during this holiday season. The children assembled in the Hospital Chapel and recited a poem entitled “December Celebrations.” Following the poem, they sang many holiday songs with the accompaniment of music under the guidance of Mr. Peter Ising, Hoboken Public Schools Coordinator. After their performance, they delivered toys that were donated by Connors School teachers to the patients in the Pediatrics Ward of the Hospital. They left the Hospital with a warm feeling in their hearts as they understood the meaning of the concept: It is in giving, that we receive.
